Formed in 2013, The Long Johns Band presents now their third recording with the simple title of III For the cd they have put aside their power trio format to add a new member to the band, guitar player Carlos Moreno who joins his guitar and lap steel to Dari King’s one, who is also the group main singer Andoni Elorriaga is on drums and Little Texas Oscar is on bass In this album the group has forgotten their most powerful rockin’ sounds to develop a more bluesy line with influences of country, Americana or bossa nova, also focusing themselves on lyrics, all them sung in Spanish except their version of the Skip James’s song Devil Got My Woman, putting a special stress in a personal sense of humour full of fine irony that reflects the daily reality of actual times It should also be mentioned the priceless collaboration of some guests who provide a good dose of quality and enhance the value of the recording, as the great Reverendo Igor on piano and keyboards, Adolfo Noriega on tenor sax and Tino Gonzalez on percussion A collection of varied and easy-to-digest songs that will certainly give fun to most listeners, making this album become something easily reachable not only for a wide amount of fans but also for lovers of the music that is done in our country
