The Kentucky Headhunters is an old style southern-rock-blues band, winners of a precious Grammy Award On the other hand, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Mr Johnnie Johnson was one of the greatest blues and rock and roll piano players of all time During the fifties Johnnie was also Chuck Berry’s legendary piano player and the famous rock Johnny B Goode was inspired by him In 1993, the Kentucky Headhunters and Johnnie Johnson recorded That’ll Work that sold 42,000 copies, but it was not until 2003 they met again to record this unforgettable Meet Me In Bluesland, an album that remained unpublished until our beloved Johnnie passed away in 2005 Now and thanks to Alligator Records, we have the opportunity to enjoy this magnificent album full of great and vibrant blues, roadhouse blues, southern rock and splendid old school rock ‘n’ roll, thanks to the magic of Johnnie Johnson’s piano and the greasy dirty grooves the superb Kentucky Headhunters perform for their pleasure and glory, pulling out all the stops in a joyful meeting of cool, magical, and very juicy music
