Here comes one of the most bluesy swingin’ Portland, Oregon bands I have recently heard The Insomniacs bring us his brand new work, a really actual and flaming recording with not a single bad track on it you will continuously enjoy without getting bored After recording his previous album Left Coast Blues they have covered thousands and thousands of miles along the whole country playing in lots of clubs, bars, lounges and festivals and they have also been nominated to different Awards in 2007 and 2008 The Insomniacs follow on their evolution process and gain credit, thanks to the natural talent of the band musicians Vyasa Dodson, guitar and vocals, Alex Shakery, piano and Hammond B-3, Dean Mueller on bass and Dave Mellan on drums form an enviable irresistible four musicians group For this last recording they have also included such impressive guest musicians like harmonica players Al Blake and Mitch Kashmar, Joel Paterson on pedal steel and Jeff Turner on tenor and baritone sax The result is a cd with thirteen splendid faultless songs from one of the best actual West Coast bands which still have many things to say
