Despite they are a new band, this Canadian blues supergroup is now hitting hard. This is their debut album and gathers ten blues, eight own compositions and two versions, developed with dynamism and a very actual conception, so it becomes a good example of their talent, as they present a new blues conception, communicating strength and originality in equal parts.
The combo is formed by musicians who know the blues language like the back of their hands. They have a wide and rich experience, as they have been members of legendary Canadian blues bands, like singer and harmonica player Chuck Jackson, bass player Gary Kendall, sax player Pat Carey, drummer Jim Casson and piano player Tyler Yarema, who come from the legendary and mythical Downdchild Blues Band, while guitar player Teddy Leonard and trumpet player Howard Moore come from another fabulous blues group like The Maple Blues Band. With the musical knowledge and experience these musicians treasure, it is easy to get an idea about the sound of The Hogtown Allstars, that could be defined in two words as simply magnificent. Among all the band musicians they have got more than twenty Maple Blues and five Juno Awards, so not necessary to say anything else.
An outstanding band coming from Toronto which has a lot to say and give to all followers, so I dare say they will give a lot to talk about in the coming times.
