From the cold forests of Finland comes the warm sound of the Gin Mill Trio. Although they are together for quite a short time, these three musicians have an extensive experience playing in other bands. They have now joined their knowledge and experience to create a band and give to the audience a repertoire based on pre-war and post-war West Coast jumping blues, also gathering influences of Chicago or Memphis blues and artists like Willie Dixon, Howlin’ Wolf, Big Bill Broonzy, Junior Parker, Memphis Minnie, Bo Diddle or Robert Nighthawk. With this musical background, they display a vibrant, funny and explosive cocktail, able bringing a dead person to life.

Although this is their first recording, they show they have a broad outstanding knowledge of the music they perform, not only when they play dark versions coming from old bluesmen, but also in the only one own composition that has been included in the album “Wasted Days”. The trio is formed by Petteri Karkkila on vocals and drums, Eero Vaajoensuu on guitar and Mika Liikari on bass. They also present Timo Mansikka-Aho on trumpet in the Lonnie Johnson’s song “Winnie The Wayler”.
