For me and many of the readers this is a completely unknown band The Deacons are four musicians and what they play is a quite enjoyable music, not only for the kind of music they play (in fact, they do an interesting mixture of jump, r&r, swing, texan blues together with New Orleans sound) but also because many times the soloist instruments are violin and viola, which are very unusual on a blues band Besides the four musicians (drummer, bass, guitar and violin/viola) sing and play their own compositions The result is a popular kind of music, always refreshing, enjoyable, daring and, over all, peculiar, original, adventurous and different I cannot say which is the best cd because both are complementary and ‘1,2,3’ is consequence of ‘Maiden’ In short, The Deacons risk themselves with an unusual proposal and we bet on them and wish them good luck with their career
