From Toronto, Canada, comes The Commoners’ last recording. They are a powerful but, at the same time, rough roots rock group although, according to their own words, they gather influences from Motown sounds, the emotional voice of singers like Otis Redding or Sam Cooke and, of course, without forgetting The Black Crowes, Marcus King, Derek Trucks or The Allman Brothers.

Over the years, the band has undergone various changes and now includes Chris Medhurst on guitar and vocals, Ben Spiller on bass, Ross Citrullo on lead guitar and Adam Cannon on drums, who are often joined by Miles Evan Branagh on organ. In this album they have also counted with the collaboration of a series of guest musicians.

Listening to the recording, you will easily realize The Commoners are a band which always give on stage the best of themselves and their only passion is to create new own songs and especially play and play again night after night, breaking their backs and leaving all their energy in every live show, thanks to their incendiary guitar riffs, the impressive expressive voice of singer Chris Medhurst and all the songs harmonies.

After a few albums where they have gradually polished their style, they now release a new recording where they show their robust energy and qualities, not only as musicians but also as composers and lyricists, in ten songs that are a good example of all the things the band can give to the actual rock scene. The album also includes all song lyrics, which will become a good way for listeners to know a little bit better all these musicians’ concerns.
