Following the path of BB & The Blues Shacks, German quartet The Chilkats show their knowledge and fondness for jump blues on this new release, that includes nine own compositions. Based in Hamburg, for many years the band has shown in countless local stages its passion for the blues they develop with enthusiasm and good doses of commitment. Band leader Hendrik Frommhold has been able to give to the band the hallmark of his faithful love and fidelity for West Coast blues, but also for New Orleans or Chicago blues styles. As guitar player Hendrick is elegant and brilliant but, at the same time, restrained and clean, not in vain he learned listening to masters like B.B. King, Buddy Guy or T-Bone Walker, he deeply admires. Besides Hendrik Frommhold on guitar, the other musicians are Boris Borisov on drums and Giancarlo Pace on bass, who develop a catching well teamed overwhelming beat. Finally Jol is on vocals and harmonica who, according to his own words, always tries to follow and keep up playing like his most admired harmonica players like Charlie Musselwhite, Little Walter, Walter Horton or George Smith, who are an endless source of inspiration.
