Semi-finalists in 2012 and 2017 at the IBC in Memphis, The Bush League was founded in 2007 on an old back porch of a country house near Richmond, Virginia, by two good friends such singer John Jason ‘JohnJay’ and bass player Royce Folks Soon they were joined by Wynton Davis on drums and Brad Moss on guitar They can be defined as a band that combines funk, soul, gospel and rock influences with the greasy blues of North Mississippi Hill Country area This is their fourth album which was recorded at Ardent studios in Memphis The cd includes ten original songs and two covers, Kokomo Me Baby coming from Mississippi Fred McDowell and Catfish Blues by Muddy Waters For the recording the band counted with the collaboration of a good selection of musicians and friends like guitar player Trenton Ayers of Cedric Burnside Project, Jeremy Powell of Southern Avenue on trumpet and keyboards, Suavo Jones of Ghost Town Blues Band on trombone, Paul Biasca on sax and Vince Johnson on harmonica Well known by their rocky direct and energetic sound, once again The Bush League cross borders to drive us along the raw winding and aggressive roads of dirty old blues
