The Bluesland Horn Band is a group formed by eight excellent musicians from Canada who develop a repertoire based on the most classic blues tradition, comfortably moving in styles like Memphis blues, rhythm and blues, classic blues and New Orleans rhythms, all of them spiced with a touch of gospel and country swing that give brightness and substance to all the songs they play.

Between 1998 and 2004 they did countless tours all over Canada and released their first album “1st. Street.” In 2013 some musicians were replaced, and they recorded their second album “Down In New Orleans” that remained in the top 10 most played blues album on Canadian radio stations for 2014, reaching number 1 on the Canadian Blues Radio Network with their following album “Radio Waves”

This is their sixth recording which gathers ten songs that become a good example of the skills and qualities the band is able to develop. Louisiana blues, shuffles, New Orleans grooves and roadhouse blues give us an idea of the energetic, fun, intense and infectious repertoire the band communicates along the more than thirty-five minutes of great and warm music that drives us to those fantastic clubs where good music and fun can be found every weekend.

With bands like this one, where all members have really clear ideas, I dare say blues is still alive and well in Canada.
