Most European blues bands have now reached a very high level, similar to the States ones This is the case of The Blues Overdrive which, in his latest album Clinch!, have included ten songs that faithfully gather the sound of the past but driven to the future with a careful display, which cleverly and tastefully mixes elements of classic Chicago blues with hypnotic Delta grooves with the most contemporary sound and even some pop music details The recording has an additional interest as great guitar player and singer Duke Robillard collaborates in a couple of songs The album was recorded at the Cherry Recording Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark The Blues Overdrive musicians are Martin Olsen as singer and guitar, Andreas Andersen on guitar too, Thomas Birck on bass, Lars Heiberg on drums and percussion and, as guest musicians, the just mentioned Duke Robillard and Joel Peterson on lap steel guitar Many bands and musicians now devote their attention to present long electrifying solos and forget the most important thing, that is to build up and give a global vision to every song they do so, in this way, create a distinctive band sound In this case, song writer and composer Martin Olsen is working hard on this subject, which is immediately noticed if you listen to this interesting album
