With the new work TG Swampbustes and their leader Tim Gibbons have just published, they continue the way they have started with their previous 2015 album entitled Swamp Tooth Comb, where they give free rein to their particular way of performing swamp pop and other stylistic musical forms The twelve songs that make up this last work reflect on a quite accurate way the atmosphere you could find on a lonely road juke joint, thanks to Gibbon’s whiskey soaked voice and the sharp, painful daring lyrics that give shape to his particular narrative In this way Honky Tonk Song becomes an ode to the life of a musician on the road, Five Minutes Past Midnight describes everything is good if blues is at your side and She Always Ate Her Crackers In Bed, Whiskey Woman or Twist My Rubber Arm clearly show the complexity of relationships, topics that analyzed from a cold point of view, become raw and juicy, making listeners discover some hidden aspects they probably have not think about so far This is a sincere honest recording that, as Hamilton Spectator says, would delight the very same Keith Richards
