It is always gratifying to be aware and receive a recording coming from a new Spanish band and, if they also present a good rock & roll and blues repertoire as do Texas Resaca Blues, the pleasure is a double one I must confess I did not know them and I have been surprised by their quality and mastery knowledge of the styles they perform, that move between powerful rock with some touches of rockabilly, garage or popular suburb blues Seven songs sung in Spanish with influences ranging from Tequila to Rosendo, Orquesta Mondragón and even Sabina, artists whose special tics can be found in their songs, although there also some nuances and slight influences of masters like Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker or BB King All songs are band singer and guitar player Antonio Oliva’s own compositions, who is backed by Alberto García on bass and backing vocals, Angel Ruiz also on bass and lap steel guitar, Max Echevarría on keyboards and Moisés Agudo on drums All together manage to get a well teamed sound with moments of great quality that will please all listeners A more than interesting album that confirms the bursting in the Spanish blues scene of a band coming from the middle of Spain, which deserves your attention for their good work, honesty and the really interesting repertoire selected A band with a great future ahead I wish they will confirm us in new releases
