A three times Blues Music Awards winner, Terry Hanck shows one more time his power of conviction and the unbelievable quality of his music, both when he sings or blows tenor sax, he warms up with the particular swing he always gives to his performing He is also a totally amazing singer as you will discover listening to this superb album he has just released that can be qualified as a small treasure The recording shows his excellent technique and mastery, not only when he plays New Orleans rhythm and blues, but also when he goes deep into Chicago blues and soul, West Coast jump or Memphis rock and roll The recording includes five own compositions and six versions coming from artists like Louis Jordan, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Bobby Charles, Eddie Cleanhead Vinson or Howlin’ Wolf And if all this was not enough, Terry is backed by a roster of high-quality guests such as Rick Estrin on harmonica, Jimmy Pugh on piano and organ, Chris Cain and Kid Andersen on guitars, the last one also on bass, June Core on drums and Tracy Nelson on backing vocals, together with his bandmates Johnny Cat Soubrand on guitar, Tim Wagar on bass and Butch Cousins on drums Also mention the album was recorded at Kid Andersen’s famous studios and Kid himself has been in charge of the whole production
