Since her father and grandfather introduced her to music and blues world when she was only five years old, singer and piano player Teresa James has not stopped to perform and musically grow. Gifted with a magnificent voice and a remarkable piano technique, Teresa has played with such great artists like Tommy Castro, Eric Burdon, Spencer Davis, Joe Bonamassa, Bonnie Raitt or B.B. King among many others. Some of his songs have been recorded by Paul Rodgers, Tommy Castro, Eric Burdon, Janiva Magness or Marcia Ball and she has also received countless awards and recognitions.

On the other hand, The Beatles’s songbook has been performed again and again in such different styles like bluegrass, funk, jazz, techno and even classical music or opera. Now Teresa James covers ten Beatles’ songs, giving them a blues, roots music and soul special air that, without losing their genuine, magic and substantial display, add a faultless sound as well as an undeniable black music feeling.

Although it is certainly difficult to improve the originals, in the eight Lennon-McCartney songs and the two Harrison’s ones that round up the recording, Teresa James has managed to give them a distinctive personal stamp, thanks to her excellent voice and the original way she approaches each song, together with magnificent arrangements and the collaboration of superb musicians like Kevin McKendree on keyboards and guitars, Terry Wilson on bass and guitars, Richard Millsap on drums and Yates McKendree on guitar in the song “Oh Darlin'”.

An album that will not disappoint those people who listen to it and, of course, all Beatles fans.
