Sweet Claudette was born in Heflin city in Alabama, but when she was only a child, she moved to Detroit in Michigan, city also known as Motor City Blues She grew up there listening to blues, funk and rhythm and blues, and that is the reason why her style takes many influences of all these styles This album gathers a lot of good ‘funky urban blues’ Sweet Claudette plays with great skill, passion and energy, thanks to the great work of the musicians who back her with a respectful attention and commitment, from the rhythm section to the horn one To explain a little more the concept of her vocal skills, we should mention her main influences come from Etta James, Katie Webster and Alberta Adams So, if you mix these three ladies’ principal musical traces, you will get an explosive combination called Miss Sweet Claudette
