Another superb album published by Severn Records, which brings us the old flavor of the most traditional and emotional blues, by a classic blues band like Sugar Ray The Bluetones Sugar Ray Norcia and his musicians come back to preach the blues with an always surprising vitality, strength, and energy Twelve songs done with softness, maturity and talent come along this splendid Evening, which gives all the soul, passion and essence of a timeless vital music, which has survived over the years and has been in the collective minds of listeners as a form of immortal art Sugar Ray harmonica and vocals, ‘Monster’ Mike Welch guitar, Anthony Geraci piano, Michael ‘Mudcat’ Ward bass and double bass and Neil Gouvin drums have built a solid, perfectly teamed album where the ability of the rhythm section emphasizes Sugar Ray’s penetrating way of singing and playing harmonica, while the flaming electrifying vibrant tone of ‘Monster’ Mike’s guitar shines in many different occasions along the whole cd and the rich and fluid nuances of Geraci are the perfect complement to round up a faultless album with not s single bad note on it
