Singer and guitar player Sugar Brown was born and grew up in Bowling Green, Ohio His real name is Ken Chester Kawashima and he is son of a Japanese father and a Korean mother His parents travelled to United States looking for a better life Sugar Brown now lives in Ontario Canada, devoting himself to write and perform contemporary blues songs Little by little, he has become quite popular among audiences in that particular area and, last year, he received Toronto Blues Society Award as best new talent artist Sugar Brown is a tireless musician who always gives a terrific energy to the songs he plays He is a force of nature, gifted with a natural power he gives to everybody who listens to him For this album Brown has chosen fifteen varied songs, from shuffles to dumping boogies, swingin’ jump, dark rhumbas or country grooves Brown is a really original and different musician you will find in this album on vocals, guitar and harmonica on a couple of songs, together with Bharath Rajakumar harmonica and guitar, Ben Caissie drums and double bass and Zak Izbinsky guitar
