It is often said life is a blues and certainly Sugar Brown lives this life with an intense passion you will realize listening to this last work In each of the thirteen songs that round up the album, this Toronto coming singer, composer, guitar player and occasional harmonica shows the blues is a wide world of different feelings with an infinite variety of landscapes and styles Son of a Japanese father and a Korean mother who immigrated to the United States back in the sixties, our man discovered the blues when he travelled to Chicago to follow on with his studies There he got deeply involved with the blues, working with an extreme commitment with musicians like Tail Dragger, Willie Big Eyes Smith or Rockin’ Johnny Burgin, who also collaborates in the recording Finalist of 2017 International Blues Challenge, now Sugar Brown works as a teacher at the University of Toronto, but this does not prevent him to devote most of his time to his great passion, the blues, which is faithfully reflected in this album, that deserves to be listened and enjoyed for the variety of styles and its irresistible authenticity
