Constant dose of good ‘funky jazzy blues flavour’ with fast harmonica riffs in the most pure Sugar Blue’s own style Sugar could now be considered as one of the most modern eclectic interesting Chicago blues ‘blowers’, deeply influenced by harmonica players like James Cotton, Charlie Parker or Lester Young He became well known among blues fans when he had the chance to play among The Willie Dixon’s Blues All Stars but his fame reached the peak when The Rolling Stones recruited him for the recording of their Some Girls album On this new cd Sugar talks about his life experiences, his own history and his particular vision of life, with a deep introspective conviction that perfectly reflects the way he has chosen to express his feelings The album was recorded and mixed in Paris and Milan and it is a rich varied piece of work There should be also mentioned the excellent contribution of Rico McFarland and Lurrie Bell guitars, which give weight, solid basis and lots of groove to the whole material included on it
