John Grimaldi, aka Studebaker John, offers us a new piece of work as intense and effective as his previous recordings This Chicago born man learned to play harp listening to Big John Wrencher and Walter Horton and he matured as a musician during the old sixties, playing on Chicago North Side clubs, such as Kingston Mines among other similar ones, where he sang and played guitar in the path of Brewer Phillips, JB Hutto and specially Hound Dog Taylor Now John brings us his last cd Waiting On The Sun… where he has included twelve own songs that follow the pattern of his electrifying energetic ‘house-rockin’ blues’ he deliciously cooks John has also got an accurate final production in some tracks, that remind us that old mature sound of fifties blues, but always done with the most contemporary new studio technical devices occasionally adding synthesized guitars
