Texas singer and guitar player Steve Howell deeply loves and fully knows all traditional American music coming from the first half of the 20th century Together with Dan Sumner on guitar and Jason Weinheimer on bass, he now releases a totally acoustic album, with the three musicians sharing the main role where, besides including some old traditional songs, he also pays homage to such great artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Percy Mayfield, Ray Charles or Mose Allison, giving to all this material a jazzy air and, at the same time, a very personal, intimate and different shape, that allows him to develop all songs with a fine sensitivity, much respect and elegance to a really particular and sometimes distant in space and time music Gifted with a rough suggestive voice, Steve gradually drives us to a relaxed calm landscape where you will be able to appreciate all the just mentioned influences This is his ninth album that becomes a must for all those who, with this kind of jazz ballads, look for the needed peace, calm and poetry to feed their souls
