If somebody asks me about this cd, I would immediately answer it will be a delicious one for people deeply interested on traditional blues school and I also would dare to say it will satisfy non specialised listeners too Although virtuoso harmonica player Steve Baker and f’ingerpicking guitar master and singer Dick Bird have been playing together since the beginning of the seventies, this is the first recording they have done together as acoustic duo and, the true thing is, they have done a great work More than fifty five minutes of priceless music, with suggestive tributes to Tampa Red Mississippi John Hurt, Henry Thomas or Washboard Sam among others, together with their own songs deeply inspired on all those pre-was heroes A real party with the atmosphere of barbecues and fish-fries open air holiday, performed from the deepest part of their hearts with truly passion, respect and pride They have also included other instruments like acoustic bass, percussion, jug or kazoo in some tracks, that contribute to create a genuine joy to an original music with more than eighty years but, thanks to the effort and good work of musicians like Steve Baker and Dick Bird, still keeps the same strength and energy than it had on those old days
