Born in Germany, when he was twenty-seven years old, singer and guitar player Stefan Hillesheim moved to Los Angeles to study at the Musicians Institute (GIT) where, in 2015, he was awarded as “most improved student”. He soon started to play and make a name for himself, not only as a blues performer but also as a gospel singer in a good number of churches, as well as becoming a requested session musician in multiple recordings.

In 2022 Stefan moved to Chicago where he lives now, and he was welcomed with open arms by the city blues community. Currently he is a highly appreciated musician, especially for his mastery slide guitar playing, his well-pitched voice and his vibrant live shows.

Although his greatest influences come from musicians like Elmore James, Howlin’ Wolf or Albert King, Stefan Hillesheim has developed a very elegant style gifted with a fine technique, that combines Chicago blues rhythms with other more subtle songs, which have allowed him to steadily get into local blues.

After releasing his first album “Seduced By The Blues” recorded live from Rosa’s Lounge in Chicago, he now presents his second album also recorded live from Rosa’s with twelve own compositions, two of them in acoustic format, that let us appreciate the quality and versatility of this new blues value.

Stefan Hillesheim is on guitar and vocals, Sumito “Ariyo” Ariyoshi on keyboards, Darryl Whright on bass and Dionte McMusick on drums. With them listeners will easily realize that Chicago blues scene is in good health.
