Sister Lucille is a group led by singer Kimberly Dill and guitar player and singer Jamie Holdren Together with them Eric Guinn on bass and Kevin Lyons on drums complete the lineup The band has now released a new album entitled Alive that becomes a tribute to Kimberly’s long-running years fighting against a serious illness that made her retire for quite a long time from the front line of music The eleven album songs develop styles like blues, country, rock, soul and funk All cuts are Jammie Holdren’s own compositions, except 99 Pounds written by Don Bryant and a particular version of W-O-M-A-N a song that became popular by Etta James The band and especially Kimberly develop a powerful collection of the most enthusiastic, bright and contemporary rockin’ blues, surrounded by some guests who give a particular color and unique attraction to the album, like Reba Russell, who has also produced the album, Eric Hughes, Chris Stephenson or a complementary effective horn section in some songs
