Despite my interest on it, for quite a long time I had no news about contemporary Australian blues which is now played on that distant big island Fortunately and to solve it comes this album by powerful energetic Sidney coming guitar player and singer, Simon Kinny-Lewis who, together with his effective band, brings us a suggestive and attractive recording, that communicates an innovative and expressive vitality that will surprise most listeners Six Simon’s own compositions plus five very well displayed versions of artists like Amos Milburn, Robben Ford, Rob Ewan and JB Lenoir, give real life to a honest album I must say is an excellent one in many aspects and personally has knocked me down Simon is an effective guitar player, gifted with a clean crystal sound, an amazing technique and an admirable phrasing that let him express all emotional and passionate feelings he pulls out when he slides his fingers with a fine elegance through his Fender neck Besides Simon Kinny-Lewis on vocals and guitar, the rest of his band musicians are Shannon Stitt on keyboards, Rob Ewan on bass, Tony Boyd on drums, plus Brett Garsed on slide guitar in a couple of songs All together manage to create an unbelievable climax that will undoubtedly catch listeners since the very first moment they start to listen the songs included in this powerful and effective album
