After studying composition, guitar and regularly perform during the 90’s as lead guitar player in several world music bands, in 2013 Sid Whelan founded his own group and released his first album Flood Waters, where he came back to the blues roots, a musical style he passionate loves from his young days In 2015 he released The Story Of Ike Dupree where he featured a horn section led by the clever direction of well-known Fred Wesley who gave a more funk atmosphere to the whole album Now Sid releases his third album where he explores to the limit all the possibilities of rock, blues, soul or country, giving them a new conception and personal stamp, as well as a real intimate sound you could not have imagined beforehand In this way Sid Whelan manages to reach both the faithful audience of Americana roots music, but also a wide range of those listeners who look to delight themselves with new different musical sounds
