Here comes a singer settled in Nashville, with a huge voice that will knock down any fan with a little knowledge and sensitivity for Afroamerican music. Backed by an able band with very good technical basis, Miss Murphy shines at a very high vocal and artistic level, with presence and good taste, giving us the best of herself along the fourteen album songs with an amazing knowledge, skill and passionate feeling, not in vain she has worked with Eric Clapton, Bob Seger or Little Feat among others. The musicians who back Shaun Murphy’s beautiful vocal qualities and good range include Larry Knight guitar, Boyd Le Fan bass, Dave Nelson drums, Larry Van Loon keyboards and vocals, with backing vocals from Laura Creamer and Barbara Payton. An album with an overflowing soul and rhythm ‘n’ blues, sprinkled with an amazing fast rocky groove, I am sure will satisfy any good fan, especially those who also love Tina Turner and Koko Taylor, singers Miss Murphy has similarities, as well as some remarkable influences.
