Here comes the new work of the excellent singer Shakura S’Aida who has done a powerful double album whit a totally amazing performing In the first cd we find Skhakura showing her most rocking and soul facets, while in the second one she gives us her most blues and intimist side, along her own songs signed together with her friend and guitarist Donna Grantis Shakura feels comfortable and confident In all the different styles she performs, with an outstanding, powerful, fine well pitched voice that will delight all her fans Although she was born in Brooklyn, Shakura S’Aida lived in Switzerland for a long time, before settling in Canada, where she lives now Before starting her solo career, she worked with Rita MacNeil and Patti Labelle, as well as with jazz organ player Jimmy Smith and the great rhythm and blues singer, Ruth Brown In this intense appealing double album full of shinning swing, Shakura’s incredible voice is backed by Donna Grantis guitar, Lance Anderson piano and organ Hammond B-3, Roger Williams bass and Tony Rabalao drums Different musicians join them in both cds, and collaborate with various instruments ranging from drums to bass, washboard, or tambourine in some songs The two albums are a delight to the ears of anyone with a minimum of sensitivity for good music So let me say Time will surely not disappoint you
