This is the second volume of the three that Shakin’ Woods band have released in EP format, with four songs in each one and the generic title of “The Blues Proper Sessions”. In the words of lead singer and guitar player Rich Russman, he wanted to include in this EP an own composition called “Enemy” and let the rest of the band musicians choose the remaining three tracks. All of them agreed that they had to be three well known covers but they should be developed in their own way and respecting the originals. After listening to many of the blues masters and big bands, they decided to select Robert Johnson’s “I Believe I’ll Dust My Broom”, “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac and “Long Grey Mare” by Peter Green, they perform with a tasteful respect but, at the same time, giving to the songs their personal very professional stamp that defines the work of this excellent blues band called Shakin’ Woods.
