From Ontario, Canada comes this acoustic duo formed by guitar player and singer Mike MacDonald and harmonica player Tyler Pantlin, which have chosen the name of Shakey Trill (Shakey refers to his jittery hands and Trill to two harmonica notes played rapidly). Both musicians met thanks to some mutual friends and soon realized they had the same musical tastes and especially in blues roots music. After some time playing in different bands, they finally decided to form this duo and travel to Memphis to compete at the International Blues Challenge 2019 where they reached the final. In 2021 they have released their first album, produced by Alec Fraser, which presents ten own compositions plus the amazing versions of “Can’t Be Satisfied” coming from Muddy Waters and “Dark Road” by Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. The connection, the charisma, good vibrations and feeling between these two musicians can be immediately noticed in each and every one of the album songs. That’s the reason why they are gradually getting popularity with a good number of fans and followers not only in Ontario or Memphis, but also along USA and Canada. The quality of this more that interesting duo can is present along this delicious album of the most genuine Delta blues.
