Canadian singer, guitar and harmonica player James Sedgwick and Irish guitar player and singer Brian O’Mahoney (aka Mr. Shingles) settled in Barcelona, Spain for a few years now. Recently they have formed the duo Sedgwick & Shingles, releasing this album with nine songs that smoothly slide along traditional blues, without forgetting country, folk or roots music, styles they tastefully perform in a relaxing intimate way. Both musicians confirm their skills as composers in optimistic songs like “Live Your Life”, “I Want to Have Some Fun” or “Beer for Breakfast” but they also include some more introspective songs like “Winter Seed” or “Platitudes”, which show the experience, musicality, good work and sensitivity of these two artists. An album where both musicians feel comfortable, enjoying the music they play and communicating those good vibrations to everyone who wants to listen to their music and go deep in their musical universe to, in this way, enjoy together a pleasant well developed, enjoyable and easy to assimilate repertoire.
