This is a historical recording, one of those that you will no longer find in the actual recording market. Two great piano players like Sammy Price and Jean-Paul Amouroux playing together in an unforgettable show that took place on May 24th. 1986 at the 11th. Festival International des Musiques Vivantes of Ris-Orangis in France.

From the first notes of “Boogie Woogie Meeting” that opens the album, you will immediately appreciate the intense feeling that appeared that night between both musicians, they communicated to the audience. Not in vain Sammy Price was a legendary American boogie-woogie and jump blues player who, thanks to his percussive way of playing piano, knew how to create a special atmosphere where it was impossible not to get up from your seat and start dancing. That night the counterpoint was the elegant and original piano of Jean-Paul Amouroux, composer and boogie-woogie expert.

Both piano players understood each other perfectly, backed by Gilles Chevaucherie on bass and Lucien Dobat on drums, and got the audience enjoy an unforgettable night of real blues and boogie. Twelve songs have been selected from that show, nine instrumental and three sung by Sammy Price so, besides becoming a more than interesting historical document, this recording will delight all piano blues lovers.
