This is the first Sam Butler’s solo album, a musician who for many years was guitar player at The Blind Boys of Alabama, where you will discover his undeniable talent The album contains a bunch of songs, all them firmly rooted in Americana and blues but deeply influenced by popular, spiritual and gospel music, written by some of the most important rock artists of the past fifty years like Bruce Springsteen, U2, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Johnny Cash or Tom Waits In this recording Sam is surrounded by three outstanding musicians like Roosevelt Collier on pedal steel guitar, Viktor Krauss on double bass and Marco Giovino on drums and percussion, who provide all the dynamism, good musical perspective and an excellent instrumental technique Sam Butler appears in this album as a more than good guitarist, really able both in the tradition and in the contemporary music, who really knows how to communicate an unbelievable electrifying energy as well as the most introspective emotional feelings
