There are no boundaries between all kinds of traditional roots music for singer and guitar player Rusty Ends, as he always dares to skillfully mix them to get a unique real distinctive sound. According to his own words, when he was a child he heard a lot of blues, rock ‘n’ roll and country, so he was deeply influenced by these three styles. It was playing in countless roadhouse bars where Rusty got experience. In 1992 and, as member of the Rusty Spoon Blues Band, he recorded a magnificent album for Rollin’ & Tumblin’ label which was produced by Scott Mullins. In 1996 he recorded again for the same label, this time with his band Rusty Ends Blues Band. Now Earwig Music Company under the clever direction of Michael Frank, reissues that Rusty Ends’ album that unfortunately was never distributed until now. Seventeen own compositions where, of course, you will find blues but also rock and roll or old school soul, without forgetting some touches of jazz and even New Orleans music. If only aged eleven Rusty decided music would be his way in life, thanks to this reissue one can realize he chose the right path, because this album will provide unlimited joy and fun to everyone who listens to it. Rusty is surrounded by Robbie Bartlett on guitar, Dave Zirnheld on bass, Gene Wickliffe and Danny Kelly on drums, Rod Wurtele on piano and Hammond, Jim Rosen on harmonica, besides a teamed horn section in some tracks. Let’s hope we get soon some Rusty Ends’ news, as he is still an active musician.
