Rune Robert Friis is a bass player and composer who currently lives in the south of Denmark. Besides leading his own band, he is also interested in recording and releasing different albums.

This time he presents the second volume of the “Built For Comfort” collection where, besides including his own songs, he has counted with a series of outstanding musicians coming from Nordic countries musical scene to, in this way, make them be known in the rest of the European countries.

In addition of covering various branches and styles of blues, this album also wants to be a reflection about the creativity and expressive freedom of human beings, as well as make people be aware of the one-dimensional and accelerated existence many of us daily experience in the world we are now living.

Like the first volume, this recording has been conceived as a collaborative project involving a handful of musicians coming from northern European countries. It would be long to name them all, but as an example let me only mention Sarah Jana Westphal on vocals, Jesper Heinz, Kenn Lending or Perry Stënback on guitars, Rasmus Stenholm or Jan Hansen on organ and keyboards, Perry Stënback on harmonica or Nils-Ole Poulin also in vocals and, of course, Rune Robert Friis on bass, guitar and vocals.

A varied, carefully produced and pleasant to listen album, that brings us closer to a variety of styles and musicians which are little known outside their area but who all of them treasure an undeniable quality that certainly will surprise more than one.
