Great blues and soul singer, guitar player and composer Roy Roberts who, for some time was member of Solomon Burke’s band, published in 2012 a really incredible high quality album The cd contains a magnificent selection of soul oriented songs and some blues too that, in spite of the elapsed time, will certainly delight all fans Roy has always considered himself as an unlucky man in the music business That is the reason why when he was booked to play at the Chicago Blues Festival he thought that may be his fortune had changed But just before his open air show, the city blue sky suddenly changed to black and dark, and a storm and hard rain started to fall Roy Roberts was only able to grumble: It is always the same thing, this is the bad luck of a bluesman like me But the happy end is Roy went on stage and began to sing and play his guitar and then all the people who were running to shelter themselves of the rain, stopped and preferred to stay under the rain listening to his show and enjoying the blues and the good work of this excellent singer and guitarist Twenty magnificent songs can be found in this priceless album where Roy sounds brilliant and totally inspired, giving the best of himself, which is a big deal Roberts is backed by an elegant powerful horn section plus some able bright musicians Great album!!
