Now comes the turn to take the main role to the keyboards player of Blues Destiny team Roy Powers leads the band with steady hand and a good dose of feeling, swing and groove, along eight excellent own songs Roy is a good piano player and gifted singer and he fills the whole cd with Americana music influences, which remind me Levon Helm’s or The Band ones He also includes jump blues and rhythm & blues coming from Amos Milburn, Roy Milton, Johnny Otis or Joe Liggins school, and a spice of Nashville country music, all them done with very contemporary arrangements Once again, Roy Powers’ piano and voice are backed by Ronny Sessum on guitar, Diki Ross on banjo, violin and accordion, Richard Love on drums and a new bass player called John Hoorman It is a high quality album, with a careful song selection and excellent arrangements This is the kind of work that really deserves your attention because you will love it more that you can imagine
