Rott’n Dan and Lightnin’ Willy form an acoustic duo specialized in pre-war blues, country blues, Delta roots blues and East Coast Piedmont blues style This is the duo first recording that includes ten songs, four own compositions and the rest versions coming from some of their favorite musicians In all songs the duo moves with reliability in styles that, although most of them reflect the sounds of the south of United States, they also dare to include some tributes to Chicago blues, ragtime or vaudeville blues However this is not an obstacle to realize their greatest influences from musicians like Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Willie McTell or Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee Along the whole album Lightnin’ Willy shows his mastery at fingerpicking style, while Rott’n Dan does an excellent work on harmonica, also getting excellent vocal harmonies that perfectly match together With all these ingredients the album becomes a very attractive one for all those old time blues loves, a kind of blues that was extensively played from the late twenties to late thirties
