Once again blues guitarist Ronnie Earl pleasantly surprises us with a spotless album, performed with an extreme good taste and a strong commitment, as usually happens every time he publishes a new work Gifted with an elegant and emotional technique, in this Father’s Day, Ronnie develops his most characteristic style to perform and feel the blues, filled with some drops of jazzy influences that sometimes could remind Dave Specter or even Duke Robillard and Luther Guitar Jr Johnson Unlike some of his previous recordings where most of the songs were instrumentals, this time Ronnie Earl has recruited two reputed singers gifted with amazing vocal qualities, as the wonderful Diane Blue and the magnificent Michael Ledbetter Both give the best of themselves to reinvent their singing with a masterful skill and great feeling in each and every song they do Arrangements, horns, production and everything that has been included in the album are superb and faultless Definitely Father’s Day and Ronnie Earl deserve a special place in any good blues lover record collection
