For more than thirty-five years Roly Platt has been a studio musician, also backing as sideman other prestigious artists like Matt Minglewood, Dutch Mason, David Clayton-Thomas, Suzie Vinnick or Ronnie Hawkins As you can see the names of the musicians he has worked with are really impressive, so he has gained a great reputation as harmonica player all over Canada where he comes from He has also been awarded on a couple of times with the prestigious Maple Blues Awards in the category of ‘Harmonica Player of the Year’ Now he has decided to take a step ahead and record an album under his own name with the purpose to show to wide audiences the potential and huge quality this virtuoso blues player has got over the years Basically, the album includes instrumental songs, but Roly has also invited two excellent singers like Steve Strongman, who also plays guitar, and Jordan John who plays acoustic guitar and sings in the song Bartender’s Blues The rest of the musicians who have worked with Roly Platt are Al Cross drums, Russ Boswell bass and double bass, John Tilden guitar, Lance Anderson piano, Hammond organ and clarinet and Neil Chapman, guitar in a couple of tracks This is an elegant sophisticated well recorded album that certainly will completely satisfy everyone who listens to it
