Every new work that comes from singer and guitar player Roger Hurricane Wilson is a great pleasure, because he always gives new things and ideas to his albums and, this new one, is not the exception Once again, Roger drops energy, passion and cool vitality along this eighth recording but, over all, a firm maturity he did not show in his first albums Four of the fifteen songs included on Exodus cd are Roger’s own songs and reflect the experience he has got for more than thirty years into the musical business This new cd is full of different influences and musical styles, all them related with americana roots music and specially blues Ballads, country rock, rhythm & blues, americana or rockabilly come together in this interesting record Sound engineer Michael Traylor has given shape to the whole production In fact, Michael was former member of Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band and he also plays drums in this cd together with Magic Band bass player Mark ‘Rockette’ Morton, I think most Captain’s fans will really enjoy it, specially Roger’s version of Sure ‘Nuff N Yes I Do
