Now aged seventy-nine, British singer and songwriter Roger Chapman shows that he still keeps a remarkable vocal qualities.
After a more than four decades solo career where he has not been in a recording studio since 2009, now he presents this last release, thanks to German Ruf Records owner Thomas Ruf in collaboration with Chappo Music and the production of multi-instrumentalist John ‘Poli’ Palmer.
Roger Chapman influences are totally varied and eclectic, ranging from 50’s rock and roll to 60’s British rhythm & blues, but he also plays folk, blues, Blue Note jazz, country, and even Tamla sound and classical music. All these influences have been and are still present in his music, since the moment he started his music career during those incredible 60’s.
With this new recording Roger Chapman breaks his long silence in the record market to show he is still in top form and a has many things to say in these new and turbulent times where creativity is more necessary than ever.
Eleven good songs with Roger Chapman on vocals and composition, Geoff Whitehorn on guitars in three songs and Poli Palmer on keyboards, vibs, sequencing and various overdubs.
