The Dallas, TX good independant label TopCat, owned and leaded by Richard Chalk, gives us a cd performed by Robyn Saylar, a musician who plays a lot of different instruments like guitar, bass, lap steel, organ, piano, harmonica and of course he sings too He is backed by some guest musicians who play in some tunes, like Bobby Bronowski, Mark Wilson or Kevin Schermerthorn on drums, Homer Henderson and Eric Mathew on bass and James Hinckle on guitar Musically speaking, the cd gathers ‘garage’ blues, alternative rock together with some New Orleans influences The recording offers an excellent ‘bar’ and ‘garage’ atmosphere perfectly built and with a very satisfactory final result Expresive and minimalistic music that will certainly satisfy a yuppies, business men or recycled punkies
