Historical Robert Pete Williams ‘live’ recordings, six years before he died, from the University of Miami, FL Williams was discovered by ethnomusicologist Harry Oster in 1974, when he visited Angola jail to record prisoner’ work-songs He was really surprised when he met a gifted blues singer and guitar player with great performing talent and originality who was found guilty of murder and condemned to life imprisonment But apart from his life story, these recordings show Robert Pete Williams playing at ease which makes him be totally inspired on an excellent performing As ever his lyrics are full of sensitivity and reflect his deep introspective world Musically speaking, Williams plays what he feels, normally with only two or three chords and his personal ‘single notes’ A delicious works specially devoted to blues lovers Do not hesitate and get, listen and enjoy it
