Robert Hill and Joanne Lediger have an extensive experience and knowledge about country roots blues. For fifteen years they have worked as a duo devoting themselves to recreate those songs coming from last century twenties and thirties, which became popular by artists like Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Blake, Son House or Willie Johnson among others.

Robert and Joanne present their new recording which includes the song “Preacher’s Blues” that, together with the album, has been recognized with several awards in different songwriting competitions.

The recording gathers eleven songs, four of them the duo own compositions, all deeply inspired in gospel-blues tradition, they are real masters when it comes to perform this old style but, at the same time, they are able to give a new dimension to the songs they play with a really actual, varied and colorful sound.

Joanne Lediger is on vocals while Robert Hill is on guitars, vocals, harmonica and keyboards. Both are backed by Paulina Hill on vocals, Steve Gelfand on bass, Frank Pagano on drums and percussion and finally Ed Alstrom on Hammond B-3 in the song “Pay One Way Or Another”.

An excellent album to discover the quality, good taste and the impressive performing of this original band which have many things to say and provide to American music, blues and, in general, to roots music. Praise the Lord for this stunning revelation!
