When he was only eighteen years old, Rob Stone could see Charlie Musselwhite playing at a juke-joint in his native Boston. The next day Rob bought his first harmonica and, since then on, his career as a harmonica player and singer has strongly and continuously grown up. He has traveled and performed all over the world and has been several times in Japan, where he has discovered a good number of blues musicians and followers. So he decided to record this album in Japan, backed by piano player Elena Kato and bass player Hiroshi Eguchi. Ten acoustic blues inspired songs that were popularized by artists like Louis Jordan, Solomon Burke or songster Leadbelly among others which, thanks to the good work and understanding among these three musicians, will drive listeners to last century thirties and forties sound. As for vocal style, Rob Stone emulates singers like Big Joe Turner, Nat King Cole or Fats Waller to name three of the best known ones. In this tasteful context Rob mixes with elegance swing and blues in equal parts and does it with a really good style, a pleasant cadence and a remarkable conviction.
