Winner in 2013 of the European Blues Challenge, Norwegian singer Rita Engedalen now brings us a much more intimate and inner album than her other previous works This is her fifth one and it has been recorded in the prestigious Juke Joint Studio of Notodden (a village that every year hosts one of the most prestigious European blues festivals) Rita has chosen a repertoire that very well shows her personal vision of blues, roots music, gospel and country, all cleverly combined and dosed with other various influences coming from Mississippi, but also from some of her own country folk music Besides Rita herself on vocals and acoustic guitars, the rest of musicians who have worked at her side, leaving their good own stamp on all cd songs are Morten Omlid on guitar, Jens Olav Haugen on bass and Eskil Aasland on drums The just mentioned musicians have been the reference band, but Rita has also recruited some guests ones who enhance and give an extra value to each and every one of the twelve songs included in the album The rich and powerful voice of Miss Engedalen brings together and gives strength and credit to an excellent album
