Born in 1956 in Niagara Falls, NY and only two weeks after finishing secondary school, our man started his personal adventure, traveling to Europe without knowing what life was going to bring him In Paris he began to play on streets songs by his admired Muddy Waters or Robert Johnson Afterwards he formed his own band and performed in various venues, bars or cafes In late seventies he moved to Spain hired as a guitar player, but his expectations were not fulfilled as he had previously thought, living as a true actual hobo, because he has not legal papers to work, and he was even living for six months with a gypsy family It was not until he moved to Germany that his life began to change for better, gradually reaching recognition and a name in blues scene, which allowed him to tour with Lazy Lester, Big Jack Johnson, Louisiana Red or RL Burnside and form his own band Now Richard Ray Farrell has settled in Malaga, where he enjoys a good peaceful life, devoting himself to play and do some recordings like this new and totally acoustic album, where he sings and plays guitar and harmonica along sixteen tracks, that tastefully combine with good blues knowledge excellent own material with some versions coming from Lonnie Johnson or Fulton Allen and even a traditional song, showing his good vocal skills as well as all his performing qualities
