An excellent Spanish blues album produced by musicians who know blues like the back of their hand. This is the case of singer, harmonica and guitar player Richard Ray Farrell and guitar player Troy Nahumko, both settled in our country for years, who control the secrets of the most genuine blues. They have also counted with a deluxe rhythm section formed by the Bárez Bros., Sergio on bass and Pablo on drums who, without shrillness, keep the punch and energy of those blues that will immediately catch listener, as we were talking about the national Double Trouble.

Led by Richard Ray Farrell, these four excellent musicians present an eleven song album, seven Farrell’s own compositions and the rest versions coming from Charles Sheffield, Jimmy Noles, Sonny Boy Williamson II and Lloyd Nolan. Genuine real and mastery performed blues that will immediately captivate blues fans, thanks to an excellent production, a perfect song selection and the undeniable professionalism and feeling these four musicians communicate in every song.

In short words, an album that I highly recommend to all blues lovers, because they will enjoy a walk through the different electric blues styles, from Chicago South Side in the path of Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson or Jimmy Rogers, to West Coast, Texas and even to Louisiana like in the song “It’s Your Voodoo Working”, a song that could be signed by one of those 60’s Excello label artists like Jerry McCain, Raful Neal, Lonesome Sundown or Phillip Walker. If you like the blues performed by The Fabulous Thunderbirds, you can’t overlook this recording.
